We are pleased to announce that Text Link Advertisements are now available on the Ad Bard Network. In this first phase, they are one line of text up to 26 characters long purchased by the click. We have great hopes for Text Link Ads, as they are very easy to create, and due to their small footprint and our requirements for relevancy they are one of the least obnoxious forms of advertising we offer.
To display Text Link Ads on your website, log in to your Ad Bard Network user account and click the 'Configuration' link in your Website Controls. Then click 'Ad types' and enable the "Text link" advertisement type. Finally, click "Install" and generate a custom source snippet to install on your website. You can display from one to five text links at a time, and they can be arranged horizontally side by side, or vertically one on top of the other.
Text Link Ads are also a very affordable and quick way that you can advertise your own website and FOSS content, displaying inexpensive advertisements on other Ad Bard Network member websites for as little as $10 for 1,000 clicks. Simple and directed ad campaigns can be launched in minutes, quickly reaching our growing network of over 60 member websites.
In order to best support Text Link Ads, we have redesigned the source snippets that display advertisements on your web page. The old snippet style continues to be supported so no changes are required, but you should consider generating a new snippet if you'd like to control whether the ads are left justified, centered, or right justified. Additional advertisement customization options will continue to be added in the upcoming weeks.
In a future phase, we are adding support for CPM pricing, allowing you to earn revenue each time an advertisement is displayed, rather than just when ads are clicked. Participation in the CPM pricing structure will require that your advertisements are displayed prominently on your pages. We will also be adding support that allows you the option of offering weekly and monthly fixed-price advertising on your web pages.
